Brooklyn Museum - Click: A Crowed Curated Exhibit
Inspired by “The Wisdom of Crowds” by the business writer James Surowiecki, “Click!” is more of a sociological experiment than a conventional photography show. Photographers submitted their pictures to the museum’s Web site for online appraisal by any and all comers. The 78 top-ranked pictures are now on display in a small gallery at the museum. Is the crowd a better judge of artistic merit than an individual expert? You be the judge.

Rock the Bells
“This heavy-hitter hip-hop fest impressed us in its inaugural year with epic performances from Wu-Tang Clan and Rage Against the Machine. But this second annual lineup is drool-inducing from top to bottom. Ready? Nas, Mos Def, Ghostface, Raekwon, Redman, Method Man, and De La Soul are all just warm-up acts for the longed-for A Tribe Called Quest. There's also serious representation from the independent, off-kilter contingent—the would-be saviors of the form—like Santogold, Cool Kids, WALE, Jay Electronica, and Kid Sister. And, oh yeah, the special guests? A little group called the Pharcyde, reunited specifically for Rock the Bells, thanks to goading by the fest’s chief, Chang Weisberg.” — Amos Barshad
