Sunday Best NYC

“Gussie up to get down. It's an easy-going, late afternoon, barbecue cum dance party. Sunday Best! is once again taking over The Yard, a leafy waterside lot on the Gowanus Canal for a nice, mid-afternoon barbecue. It’s no ordinary weenie roast, though. The bar-b’s organic (provided by Kelly Geary of Sweet Deliverance) and resident DJs Justin Carter, Eamon Harkin and Doug Singer are playing alongside King Britt. To boot, the whole shebang with the former Digable Planets member and Philly resident is free!”

Sunday June 1st, 4pm

388-400 Carroll Street, Brooklyn NY

The World Science Festival “The conference attempts to put science in context for
everyone: poets, accountants, kids, humanities majors-- really, everyone--using "art, music, dance, literature, dialogue and debate." The conference has a great speaker's list, including novelist Alan Lightman, journalist Charlie Rose, dancers, artists, business owners, and scientists galore. Events at the festival include talks on green building, sustainable cities, and even green consumerism.”

Whitney Biennial

This is the last chance to see the Whitney Biennial before it closes on June 1st.

“Today there are more artists working in more genres, using more varieties of material, and moving among more geographic locations than ever before. By exploring the networks that exist among contemporary artists and the work they create, the Biennial characterizes the state of American art today.”
